Hope everyone filed their taxes smoothly and perhaps have a little flow of cash coming their way. Well, in the tax relief spirit, NEJETAA will celebrate the April Happy Hour with a little bit of "tax relief appetizers." That's right, this next happy hour there'll be some free food.

When: Friday, April 30th, ~6:00pm
Be a Patriot and come out and we'll have a marathon (probably not of the running nature). Or just relax and have fun!

Our sakura prediction committee was caught completely off guard by the lovely weather we've been having, so we weren't ready to see sakura blooming already! This is two weeks earlier than last year, can you believe it?!
The weather is going to continue to be hot through most of the week, which guarantees we'll be way past peak if we keep with the 24th. So we have to move up to Sunday, April 11 from noon. That's this Sunday! Saturday looks like rain, so unfortunately we have to do Sunday.
Huge apologies for the inconvenience, and we hope you can still make it! All the same stuff as before (what to bring, location, time, etc.) is still the same. *****original message below******
In preparation for that time, here's the initial announcement for the 2010 hanami. We'll be having it at the same place as last year, the Charles River Esplanade, from noon. If you haven't already seen it, feel free to check out the Facebook event here or our calendar. Please bring to the hanami:
-Blanket/Chair/etc. to sit on
-Food/snacks to share
-Your own beverages
We had a great turnout and a very fun time last year, so let's repeat!
Here is the map (it'll be at the same place as last year). The weather and sakura are both hard to predict for the end of the month, so the date is tentative. If we need to move to another weekend for a better event, we'll do so and make another announcement.

Firstly, Happy St. Patty's Day!
Secondly, you might still be in the mood for St. Patty's Day a week later. So, you might as well join us Happy Hour style!

The Consulate General of Japan is looking to promote JET to AnimeBoston attendees and needs your help!
On Saturday, April 3 the Consulate will host:
*A talk by famous JET alumn and all-around Japan expert Roland Kelts
*A cosplay dance competition
*A JET promotion booth
They are looking for volunteers from JETAA to help out with one or more of the above. They have limited free tickets for the day to give away, so if you're interested in helping out and seeing the convention for free, please let me know (president at nejetaa dot com). You're only expected to help out for a couple of hours, and then you're free to explore the event on your own.
Now's your chance to help out and also see one of the biggest Japan-related events Boston has to offer! |
