Hi everyone - from all of us at NEJETAA, we wish you happy - and healthy - new year.
These last few days of mid January 2024 have seen some snow come/go/come again. I am based in NW Vermont and heard that the Boston and other New England coastal regions had a bunch of snow, too. When I moved to the Vermont from the Bay Area way back when, I was really concerned about adjustment to the snow and cold... but I feel blessed and fortunate to be in safe environment, warm house, food to eat and thus...have come to enjoy the winter season and the snow (even tho' I am not a skier or snowboarder).
Today, I was thinking about Japan (as I normally do) and knowing they get a TON of snow on the windward side of the Japan Alps, I was curious how they deal with it all. I did a quick search on YouTube and found this wonderful and recently posted video from NHK that addresses just that topic in what seems to be a relatively new series:
As NHK doesn't allow embedding here (boo!), please click the link to watch it / enjoy:

Do you have some cool or wild-and-crazy snowy memories from Japan that you want to share? You can post a comment or if you want to enter your post and share some memories and pictures or videos, please do!
Onegai shimasu,
