Hi fellow JETs,
Finding yourself missing autumn in Japan? Feeling a bit nostalgic for your old school? I have the perfect event for you!
Come volunteer at the Japanese Language School Bunkasai (Cultural Festival), at Medford High School on October 27 (Saturday), from 12:30 – 2:30 PM. For the past 5 years, NEJETAA has sent some volunteers to help out, and although I can’t attend this year, I would love for this partnership to continue.
Most years we help out with traditional Japanese mini-games for the kids. There will also be displays by the students, goodies at the bake sale beforehand, and a demonstration by the judo school that produced a gold medalist at this year’s London Olympics. It’s a low-pressure and fun way to reconnect with a Japanese school.
Please RSVP if you’d like to attend – I will put you in touch with our contact at the school. No Japanese language skills required.
Thank you!!
