Happy New Year, 2013!
Our first event of the new year will be our bi-monthly General Meeting. Please join your fellow JETs for food and an update on what’s happening in our chapter. We have a Shinnenkai and Nihongo Dake dinner coming up and a few other announcements!

The “Live Your Dream: The Taylor Anderson Story” documentary by Reggie Life screened in Richmond, Virginia on Nov. 19, 2012 with great success. Taylor Anderson was one of two JETs, the other Monty Dickson, who tragically perished in the 311 Tohoku earthquake/tsunami. Reggie Life attended NEJETAA’s Career Workshop and networking event in 2011 and members were very fortunate to meet with him and hear about the project in its very early stages. JETAA USA donated $1,750 to the film thanks to two fundraisers held by JETAANY.

JETAA USA Board of Advisor member Jessyca Wilcox sent this along to us. Steven Horowtiz, also on the Board of Advisors, posted it on JETwit here. We received a lot of participation last year with this card sharing project so we hope you will send some cards this year too!
American students can send holiday greetings to students in the Tohoku area of Japan devastated by the 3/11/2011 disaster. Cards, which can be written in English, will be distributed beginning December 17. Postage for a regular-size envelope is $1.05.
